Hydrophobic Polyester (PETE) Filter Membrane
Hydrophobic PETE membrane filters are a great option for venting applications where PTFE or polyolefin membrane filters have traditionally been utilized.
These polyester track-etch membrane filters have been treated using a proprietary process to render them permanently hydrophobic and oleophobic. They have superior dimensional stability compared to PTFE membrane filters, and exhibit better thermal resistance than polyolefin membrane filters. Additionally, these PETE filters typically have greater water entry pressure than traditional vent filters with similar pore size ratings. Unlike PTFE and polypropylene, polyester is compatible with gamma irradiation sterilization and can be thermally welded to a wide variety of substrates.
